Infrastructure and Learning Resources

Classrooms:

The college is housed in a very serene and conducive ambience. The classrooms are spacious and provide enough aeration. The college management provides required funds for the establishment and maintenance of the infrastructure. Relaxed mind is an essential factor for attaining proper concentration and diligence. There are separate blocks for science, Arts and commerce for conducting class work. There are more than 30 classrooms with required furniture.

Laboratories:

All the science labs are renovated in tune with the modern specifications and standards, They are well-furnished with necessary instruments and equipment, proper lighting and wash points. To ensure safety, labs of Department of Chemistry are fitted with fire extinguishers, exhaust fans, first aid boxes etc.

There are a total of 22 laboratories: Mathematics-1, Physics: U.G.-3; P.G.-3, Electronics-1, Chemistry UG-3; P.G.-3, Botany-2, Zoology-3, English Lab-1, Computer-1 and M.Com. (Retail Marketing)-1.

Knowledge and Information Resource Centre: The college has a central library with more than 40,000 books with separate reference section and separate journal section which takes care of research requirements of both faculty and students. The library has internet facility. It has subscribed to the annual premium membership of INFLIBNET and thus nearly 75% of the library activities have come into the fold of automation.

E-Room:

A provision for E-class room with a carpet area of about 1800 sq.ft. provides ambience for the conduct of seminars, and ICT related activities.

Internet Service:

Both faculty and students are provided with BSNL Broad Band internet service with 2 mbps speed. A separate Network Resource Centre is established with 10 systems and is made available during the working hours of the college.

Career Guidance Cell:

The college has a career guidance cum placement cell that liaisons with industry and corporate sector. The students are trained in soft skills, communication skills, analytical skills and computer skills.

Seminar Hall:

The college has the facility of Conference Hall with seating capacity  of 250. An LCD projector with screen is also installed to facilitate ICT enabled teaching. The latest Public Address System and advanced audio and video equipment are provided to make discussions, meetings, workshops, conferences and seminars effective and fruit-bearing.

Staff Rooms:

There are three staff rooms and in them departmental cubicles are created to accommodate each department with fans, lights, tables, chairs ,cupboards/almirahs. For the faculty of science departmental staff rooms are created in their respective labs.

Hostel:

With the auspices of the UGC the college has constructed a hostel for women. It can accommodate about 100 students. As the funds received from the government are insufficient, it is being run with the support of the college management, some philanthropists and likeminded staff of the college.Several other students stay in the hostels run by the social welfare departments. All the hostels are furnished with sufficient facilities.

Physical Education Center:

The college has about 10 acres of play ground. The college provides requisite paraphernalia to organize in-door and out-door games. Recently, the college has inaugurated an indoor stadium constructed with the UGC funds, the management contribution and the funds donated by the alumni. There is also a gym equipped with the required instruments worth 15 lakhs encouraging students to maintain their physical fitness. There are provisions for cricket, badminton, kabbadi, coco, long jump, high jump and several track events.

Electricity Water-Supply and Transport Facility:

  • The college has a separate HT transformer for power supply
  • There are three bore-wells in the campus to meet the water requirements. There are two overhead tanks from which running water is supplied to all the tap points.
  • There is a provision for mineral water supply for the staff and students.
  • Students commuting from near by villages are given concessional fare facility by the APS RTC.

Open-Air Dias:

There is a provision for Open-Air Dais used to stage the events of student-related and other institutional activities and programmes throughout the year. The people of the town have also been using it for their functions like felicitation programmes, religious addresses, engagements and marriages. This facility is generating some revenue for the college.

Health Center:

The institution has a Health Centre. There is a Government General Hospital in the town just 2 kilo metres away from the college. In case of emergency the students / faculty can be taken to Govt. General Hospital. However the college conducts periodic general medical checkup for students. Apart from regular checkup, medical camps are conducted in the campus now and then.

Canteen Facilities:

The canteen located in the college provides nutritious and healthy food for fair price. The safety and hygiene of the canteen is monitored at regular intervals.
